One of the most common questions from waxing clients is how soon to come back. The answer isn't the same for every area, because hair growth cycles differ significantly by location. Here's the schedule Sophie recommends at our Vancouver and Surrey studios.
Why Timing Matters
Waxing is most effective when hair is removed in the same growth phase. Over consistent sessions, more hairs synchronise to the same cycle — each subsequent wax removes more hair, lasts longer, and causes less discomfort. Irregular scheduling disrupts this, and you never benefit from the cumulative smoothness that regular clients experience.
Recommended Frequency by Area
- Bikini/Brazilian: every 3–4 weeks — the fastest-growing area
- Underarms: every 3–4 weeks
- Full legs: every 4–5 weeks
- Half legs (lower): every 4–5 weeks
- Arms: every 4–6 weeks
- Brows/upper lip/face: every 3–4 weeks
Important: Do not shave between wax appointments. Shaving resets the follicle cycle and disrupts the synchronisation you've built. If hair becomes too stubby to grab, trim rather than shave.
When Results Start to Improve
Most clients notice a significant improvement by their 3rd waxing appointment. Hair grows back finer and sparser, skin stays smooth longer between appointments, and discomfort reduces substantially. By appointment 5–6, many clients report that some areas are noticeably patchy — the follicle is producing weaker, less consistent regrowth.
Planning Your Year
If you wax consistently every 4 weeks, you'll book approximately 13 appointments per year. Many of our Vancouver and Surrey regulars pre-book 3–4 appointments ahead so they always have a slot, especially going into summer and holiday seasons when availability fills faster.
Brazilian from $60, full legs from $80, underarms from $25. Available at both our Vancouver and Surrey studios. Call 604-736-6245 to set up a recurring booking.
