After 15+ years shaping brows across Vancouver and Surrey, the most important thing Sophie B has learned is this: there is no universal "perfect brow." Every beautiful brow shape is the result of reading a person's unique facial structure and creating something that feels like them — not like a trend.
The Three Brow Landmarks Sophie Maps on Every Client
- The brow start aligns vertically with the inner corner of the eye
- The arch peak falls roughly above the outer edge of the iris
- The tail ends at a diagonal from the outer corner of the nose to the outer corner of the eye
Oval Face — Most Versatile
Oval faces are balanced in proportion. A soft, slightly arched brow works beautifully, as does a straighter brow for a more editorial look. Avoid exaggerated arches which can look artificial on naturally balanced features.
Round Face — Create Lift
The goal is to elongate the face visually. A well-defined, higher arch does this beautifully. Best shape: High arch, angled peak, slightly longer tail. Avoid very flat brows which emphasise roundness.
Square Face — Soften the Angles
A curved, slightly arched brow with a rounded peak balances angular structure. Best shape: Curved arch with a rounded (not sharp) peak. Avoid overly angular brows that echo the jaw.
Heart Face — Balance the Forehead
A low arch, softer brow that isn't too thick helps balance the wider forehead. Best shape: Soft, rounded arch with a slightly lower peak, medium thickness.
The most important thing: a brow shaped to your specific face structure will always look better than one shaped to a trend. This is why Sophie maps every brow before picking up the thread.
