Lash lifts are one of those treatments that sounds more complex than it is. Clients often arrive a little nervous — they've read a lot of varying information online. Sophie and our team do hundreds of lash lifts every year at our Vancouver and Surrey studios, and the reality is that most clients find the experience deeply relaxing.
Before You Arrive
Arrive with clean, mascara-free lashes — no waterproof mascara or lash serums on the day of your appointment. If you use a lash growth serum, pause it 48 hours before. Don't curl your lashes the morning of your appointment.
Step 1: Cleanse and Assess (5 minutes)
Sophie begins by gently removing any residue from your lashes using an oil-free cleanser. She'll assess your natural lash length and curl direction to select the right silicone shield size — this determines the degree of lift.
Step 2: Shield and Lifting Solution (25–30 minutes)
A small silicone shield is adhered to each eyelid. Your lashes are lifted and combed up and over the shield — this is the shape they'll set in. A chemical lifting solution is applied and left to process for 8–12 minutes, depending on your lash texture.
What does it feel like? Most clients drift off during this stage — you're lying down with your eyes closed, there's no discomfort, and the processing time is the perfect length for a quiet reset.
Step 3: Setting and Nourishing (15 minutes)
The lifting solution is removed and a setting solution applied to lock the new curl in place. This is followed by a nourishing serum or keratin treatment to condition the lashes and seal the process.
Step 4: Optional Tint (10 minutes)
If you've booked a Lift + Tint, Sophie applies a lash tint at this stage for fully dark, defined lashes that require no mascara at all.
What You'll See
You'll leave with noticeably curled, open-looking lashes. For the first 24 hours: no water, steam, swimming or eye makeup. After 24 hours, you can resume everything normally — including mascara, although most clients find they no longer need it.
